There are many conversations about “curing,”
not enough about “healing”. I’m trying to change this.
MY WORK
With an open heart, a listening ear and deep-rooted empathy, I help people find the right tools to broaden their understanding of healing and build a personal path to it. An individual path which meets differing and changing needs.
As an educator for cancer survivors and patients, one of the most influential insights I want people to have is understanding the difference between "curing” and "healing.” Just because someone has no evidence of disease, it does not guarantee they are healing from their experience. Another person can have no cure in sight and experience profound healing.
I hear often, “What do I do now with this fear, worry and uncertainty?” The art of mindful healing means summoning the courage to move ahead feeling safe in body, mind and spirit.
The healing path is a transitional space where something may be ending and something else beginning. More than a physical recovery is needed. More than time is needed. Healing means giving tender attention to the whole self by intentional practices and mindful reflections.
Rarely is the most important question asked. How are you healing from this experience?
